Summary
The book I read this week was from the Magic Tree House series. It was number seven called Sunset of the Saber-tooth by Mary Pope Osborne. The story is about a brother and sister who can travel back in time in the tree house. In this book they travel back to the cave people in the ice age. They have to find the M clue to help Morgan who is under a spell. When they arrive they are in their swim suits and are very cold. As they search for the item they need they come across a cave that has a fire going in it. They find clothes to borrow and find art work on the walls. Peanut their pet mouse wonders off and they go searching for her. Then they become trapped and are rescued by a sorcerer. Do they make it home in the magic tree house or are they stuck in the ice age?
Impression
I enjoyed this book and it was an easy read. I feel most children would like this series and the fact that the reader can pick up any of the series books and not be lost. This book also flows very well.
The Customer reviews on Amazon.com by Sonya Varron
My son really enjoys the entire series of The Magic Tree House and the guidebooks. The stories keep him turning pages, in addition it provides additional learning material on the subjects being written about. Once they start reading with book one, children will want to continue the journey in the following books.
Lesson
I would not necessarily do a lesson with this book, but I would do a read aloud to my students.
